Welcome to KinaQ

Make Anki flashcards from any web page — questions, highlights, or image occlusions — entirely on your own machine.

To open the sidebar on any page:
press 1 (Mac) · CtrlShift1 (Windows) — or click the KinaQ toolbar icon → Show / hide panel.
KinaQ slides in from the right. Close it with the in its header (or the shortcut); reopen it with the tab on the right edge. It never opens on its own (unless you ask it to — see Personalise).

What you can do

✍️Freestyle Q/A & Cloze — highlight text on any page and turn it into a card. Rich-text toolbar (bold, colours, lists, equations) and dictation.
🖼️Image occlusion — screenshot the page, paste a screenshot, or open an image; crop it; draw masks; make native Anki Image-Occlusion cards (Hide all / Hide one). Works on iPad/AnkiWeb.
🎯Auto — on PassMedicine & QuesMed, build a Full Q/A or Cloze card straight from the question.
🗂️Deck picker — browse your Anki decks as a tree, or type a new name and create it in place.

One-time setup: Anki

Cards go into your own Anki via the KinaQ add-on — install it once (via the code below, in Anki) and keep Anki running. 20 cards are free to try before you need a licence.

Personalise

Every card you make on a qbank starts in this deck — you can still change it per card, and rename it here anytime. Turn the toggle off to start with a blank deck instead.

Always open on a site: open that site → click the KinaQ toolbar icon → tick “Always open automatically on this site”. (KinaQ asks permission for just that site.)

Change the toggle shortcut: open Chrome’s shortcut settings →

KinaQ can’t appear on a few pages the browser locks down — Chrome settings, the Web Store, the PDF viewer, and file:// pages. That’s a browser rule, not a bug.
